The system shown in Figure P3 consists of a crank lever ABE and lumped mass
m, m2 10 kg pivoted at point B. The crank lever has mass moment of inertia 3.2
kgm2 about B. The movement of crank lever is control by two springs and dampers.
The crank lever is displaced with a small angular displacement and released. It is then
oscillate freely and with this condition determine the following.
i. The period time of oscillation, T.
ii.
The ratio amplitude after one (1) complete vibration oscillation of the initial.
Given the spring constant, k, 1x10 kN/m and k₂ = 2.4 x 10' kN/m and the damping
value, C, = 100 Ns/m, C₂ = 240 Ns/m.
