1. The three phase bidirectional controller as shown in Figure supplies a Y-connected
resistive load of R = 102 and line to line voltage is 208V RMS and f=60 Hz. For the
delay α=/6 determine
(a)The output power 1R

(c) Give one application of such a converter
2. A single phase full wave ac voltage controller supplies an RL load. The input supply
voltage is 230V, RMS at 50Hz. The load has L = 10mH, R = 102, the delay angle of
SCR 1 and 2 are equal, where al=a2=π/3, ẞ=197.4°
Determine:
a. Conduction angle of the thyristor.
b. RMS output voltage.
c. The input power factor.
3. The input voltage to the cycloconverter in Fig.2 is 120 v (r.m.s), 50Hz. The load
resister is 502 and the inductance is L-40 mH. The frequency of the output voltage is
25Hz. If the converters are operated as semi-converters such that
0≤α≤π the delay angle is ap = 2, determine:
