Neglect the weight of the end plate that is attached to the spring. b) (8 marks) During braking, the speed of a car travelling along a straight highway varies as v = 16 - (x/4) m/s where x (in metres) is the distance travelled after the brakes are applied. Determine the acceleration of the car as a function of x.
