The structure shown in Figure was designed to support a 30-kN load. It consists of a boom AB
with a 30x50-mm rectangular cross section and a rod BC with a 20-mm-diameter circular cross
section. These are connected by a pin at B and are supported by pins and brackets at A and C,
respectively.
1) Determine the normal stress in boom AB and rod BC.
2) Determine shearing stress in connections A, B, and C.
3) Determine bearing stress at A in member AB,
4) Determine bearing stress at B in members AB and BC.
