Objective: Design an amplifier with improved Frequency Response Assignment Details: One of the key applications of MOSFET is in amplifier design. Using the circuit shown in Fig.1, MOSFET can amplify a small, time varying input signal. The two conflicting requirements in amplifier design are its high gain and large bandwidth. In this assignment, the main goal is to design an amplifier with a specified gain and identify a solution to improve its bandwidth. Use Fig. 1 to design a single stage amplifier with a gain and low cut off frequency as follows 195 Gain (Gy) 4+ 100 Low cut off frequency (fi) = 200 +1 195 100, H= 2. Find higher cutoff frequency (fx) using simulation OR hardware experiment. 3. Conduct a thorough literature review of how frequency response of a MOSFET amplifier can be improved. List down their advantages and disadvantages. 4. Based on the above literature review, propose a new design to improve bandwidth of the amplifier in Fig. 1. Provide a detailed analysis of how your proposed design works. Specify the bandwidth improvement of your proposed design. 5. Explain the tradeoffs in the design of both amplifiers.
