Refer to the two RLC circuits in the previous problem. Assume, as before, that they are
in sinusoidal steady-state, and that: w = wo. Consider the parallel RLC circuit first.
• Obtain an expression, as a function of t, of the energy stored in the capacitor and
the inductor at any give time, and show that their sum is constant.
• Compute the total energy dissipated in the resistor over one period To
(Hint: energy dissipated = average power dissipated times To.)
• Relate the ratio of those two quantities to the circuit Q.
Repeat the same procedure for the series RLC circuit.
