phase constant, wavelength and characteristic impedance (b) If a voltage wave travels down
20m down the line, what percentage of the original wave remains and by how many degrees
it is phase shifted.

A 100MHz voltage source drives the series combination of an impedance Zg = 25+ j25
and a lossless transmission line of length 1/4. The line characteristic impedance is 500 and
is terminated in a load impedance. a) Determine the load impedance value required to
achieve a net impedance of 5002. (b) If the inductance of the line is 1 μH/m, determine the
line length in meters.
An air filled rectangular waveguide operates at 1GHz and has its dimensions of 5cm x
2cm. Check whether TE21 mode propagates or not.
