Q4. STC network formed by sensor and amplifier
Hassan measures the output of a sensor with no load on it, and finds that the signal has 1 V
amplitude. He then loads the sensor with a 1 k resistor and finds that the sensor output has
now dropped to 0.1 V amplitude. He couples the sensor to an amplifier using a 1 uF capacitor.
The input resistance of the amplifier is 10 k.
Derive the transfer function of the STC network formed by the sensor output resistance (Rs), the
coupling capacitance (Cc), and the amplifier input resistance (Ra). Draw its frequency response in
terms of a Bode plot. What is the DC gain and 3 dB frequency of this STC network? Is it high pass
or low pass?
