Answer the following questions:
(a) For a reaction between gas A and liquid B we need to use a solid catalyst
with a high catalyst/liquid B ratio and ensure a good contact between gas
A and the catalyst. Discuss and justify the best reactor type and flow
pattern for this reaction.

(b) Diastase is a biological enzyme used as a catalyst to convert starch
(compound A) into maltose (Product P) in a diluted aqueous solution
(constant density). The concentration of starch and the reaction rate are
shown in Table Q4.

A reactor is used to convert 80% of starch from an industrial stream with
a flow rate of 4 L s-1. The concentration of starch at the inlet, CAO, is
20 mol L-1. Compare, justify, AND calculate the volume of the best
continuous mode reactor (stirred tank or tubular) to use in his factory.
