1. Load in the data from "final_exam_data_sheet.xlsx" using the "xisread" command and call it
"BIG". 10 points
a. You must use the raw data and separate out the headers using CELL notation.
2. Make small as the first, third, and fourth columns of BIG. 5 points
3. Create a function that does the following (20 points):
a. Takes a single number
b. Determines if the number is POSITIVE, NEGATIVE or ZERO
c. Divides by 2 if the number is POSITIVE
d. Squares the number if it is NEGATIVE
e. Sets the manipulated number equal to 9001 if the number is ZERO
f. Returns the manipulated number
4. Run BIG through your function and call it new_BIG. 5 points.
5. Create a function that does the following (20 points)
a. Takes an array of numbers
b. Uses your previous function to perform the same operation using dynamic sizing. You
will need to use "length()" or "size()" for this.
c. Returns the manipulated array
6. Run BIG through your new function and call it newer_BIG. 5 points
7. Run small through your new function and call it new_small. 5 points
8. Compare equality new_BIG and newer BIG to see if they are equal. 10 points
9. Clear structure of code, detailed comments, and otherwise adhering to best practices. 20 points
a. Use a section (%%) for each question.
b. Thorough comments. Tell me in English (pseudo code) what you are doing.
c. Be concise with your code. For example, you will lose points for writing two FOR loops
where one would do.
