Hints and Tips
Be sure to determine what type of random variable the problem requires you to use. Then, identify the
parameters you need (n, p for binomial, etc). Then, determine what is being asked. Finally, open Excel
and make your computations. The ratio of time spent thinking to time spent doing should be at least 3 to
1! This may be the hardest assignment in IE 8510. But, it is very important for later courses, like IE
8530.
