You perform an experiment in which you are artificially stimulating a neuron (whose
electrical properties are described in Figure 7) and then record the intracellular
membrane potential. You are going to apply five consecutive stimulations at a
voltage of 30 mV each and you are going to decrease the time intervals between
each stimulus and the next (Table 1). You perform two different trials (i. and ii.).

Predict how many action potentials the neuron is going to produce if
i. you apply the stimuli directly to the trigger zone.
ii. you apply the stimuli to dendrites at a distance from the axon hillock, which
results in each stimulus to decrease in voltage by 50% by the time they reach the
trigger zone.
