Problem 2 The crankshaft has a constant angular velocity of 100 rad/sec. For all positions 0, the piston
experiences a downward force of 2000 lb, because of a gas regulator at C ("static" force). The
connecting rod has a mass moment of inertia IM of 0.014 slug-ft² about its centroidal axis G.
The mass of the connecting rod is 0.5 slug.
The mass of the piston at B is 0.25 slug.
Determine the force which the crankshaft (pin A) exerts on the connecting rod AB when 0 = 45
degrees and the force that the piston exerts on upper pin of connecting rod B at this same instant.
Assume no friction between cylinder wall and piston (only consider normal forces).
Note: the dynamic forces must be superimposed on the static forces at all times
