Design an electric circuit using Op-Amp as voltage comparators to detect the increasing levels of temperature in
a furnace and warn the operator with visual indicators.
The design criteria are:
1. The following voltage levels represents the temperature senor outputs
■3V is equivalent to 200°C
■ 6V is equivalent to 400°C
■ 12V is equivalent to 800°C
2. You are provided with three Op-Amps, two voltage sources in the range of 12 to 15V, one 10K
potentiometer, three resistors in the range of 100K to 1000K ohms, three different color LEDs.
3. Green LED turns ON when the temperature exceeds 200°C
4. Blue LED turns ON when the temperature exceeds 400 °C
5. Red LED turns ON when the temperature exceeds 800°C
Hints:
Use 10K potentiometer to vary the voltage levels to represent the temperature senor output.
The three resistors are to be used to design the voltage divider which provides the reference voltages for the Op-
Amp comparator.
