Q1: Answer Three only of following:
(15 Marks)
1- An 8-pole wave -wound d.c generator with output current is 200 A and has AT/pole =
2600 AT and ATa/pole= 400 AT. Find the number of conductor.
2- An iron ring of circular cross sectional area of 3 cm² and mean diameter of 20 cm is wound
with 500 turns of wire and carries a current of 2A to produce the magnetic flux of 0.5mWb
in the ring. Determine the permeability of the material.
3- Generators convert mechanical motion to electrical energy. What the principle of working?
4- A separately excited 4 - pole, 900 rpm wave wound de generator has an induced emf of
240V at rated speed and rated field current. When connected to a load, the terminal voltage
is observed to be 200V. If the armature resistance is 0.2 2 and the flux per pole is 10 m Wb,
compute the armature current and the number of conductors
