(3-43) Air at 26 °C and 55% relative humidity enters an air conditioning unit at a rate of 1,000 kg/h.
The unit consists of a cooling coll and a dehumidifier where air is cooled and dehumidified
to 3 °C and 90% relative humidity. The air then passes through an electric heater and leaves
it at 21 °C (state 1). After that, air passes through spray device where it is humidified to 95%
relative humidity. Part of the air is bypassed across the spray device such that the resulting
supply relative humidity of 60%.
Sketch the process on the psychrometric chart and calculate the followings:
(a) Bypass mass flow rate, m.
(b) Cooling coil and heating coil capacities.
