7.) The LR circuit shown has a resistor of 362 in series with a solenoid
with 650 turns that is 43 cm long and has a diameter of 22 cm. An
external conducting loop also is shown just outside the solenoid (this
loop will not factor into the problem until part (c). The battery has an
emf of 18 V and the switch is closed at t=0.
a) Determine the self-inductance, L, of the solenoid.
b) The plot shows the typical current rise while charging the solenoid (i.e. the
Inductor). Determine the numerical expression (plug in numbers except for t) for
the current, I(t), in the LR circuit for these components?

c) Combine =LI within the solenoid with Faraday's Law to determine the induced emf within the external
conducting loop at t=1.0 ms. Note that the changing magnetic flux within the loop (N-1) is identical to that within the
solenoid since the loop surrounds the solenoid.
d) Viewing FROM THE TOP of the solenoid, what is the direction of the induced current within the external conducting
loop at t 1.0 ms.
